The Glissers – Glissers LP

24,00

In cooperation with Biveco Records, Discom distribution presents you previously unpublished The Glissers self-titled LP album, an important testimony of 90’s Belgrade jazz scene.

The Glissers was 10 piece jazz/ funk/ crossover supergroup active in Belgrade between 1995 and 1996. It was founded by Vojislav Besic-Beske (ex Bezobrazno Zeleno) who wrote all music, lyrics and played guitar. The lineup included an impressive crew of musicians: Margita Stefanovic-Magi (Katarina II) on keyboards, Branko Isakovic (Propaganda, Idoli) on bass and vocals, Borko Petrovic (Partibrejkers) and Misko Radivojevic (Darkwood Du, Plejboj) on drums, Marin Petric (Del Arno Band) on percussion, etc … Their music can be described as a fusion of various jazz styles: from nu funk in song Chicken Soup, hard bop in RefuGee, acid jazz in Ja I Moj Pitbul, contemporary jazz in Stormy Friday and trip-hop in Space Sub_dub Chicken Mix. Well known for their unpredictable gigs with a lot of improvisation and groove, the band made a significant impact in Belgrade’s club scene in hard times of post-war-torn Yugoslavia. The part of the material was recorded in NYC which gives the album an East Coast Jazz flavor.

LP is remastered from original master tapes and released on 180-gram vinyl and luxury gatefold cover with lyrics.
